Most people were fine with it and even thought it was cute. A few complained about the sanity but were mostly ignored. One lady ran away screaming "rats in the food court!" It didn't really cause a ruckus as pretty much everyone was absorbed checking out their phones.
We asked the chipmunks if we could get a picture, and they were more than happy to do so. I asked why they were inside drinking coffee, and they said the weather was pretty cold and they just needed to warm up.
It'll be interesting to see if other animals follow suit.
